Suspended In The Swell explores the uneasy space where wonder and fear exist at the same time. The composition imagines a wave from the perspective of free fall. Water seems to rush upward and around the viewer, its forms suspended somewhere between bubbles, foam, and fragments of light. There is beauty everywhere, but no stable ground from which to take it in. The viewer is invited to experience the scene while simultaneously confronting the uncertainty of where the movement might lead.

That tension reflects a familiar human experience: the difficulty of remaining present to what is beautiful when the future feels unknowable. Even in moments of joy, possibility, and connection, fear can pull our attention toward what might happen next. In our shared emotional reality, each of us carries our own hopes and fears into the current, inevitably shaping the experiences of those around us.

Suspended In The Swell considers whether uncertainty must always be something to overcome—or whether there are moments when we can allow fear and wonder to coexist. We may not know where the current is taking us, but that does not make the beauty of where we are any less real or awe-inspiring.
