Held in the Current is a meditation on moving toward an unknown future with hope, trust, and the quiet assurance that we do not move through life alone.

A rising wave dominates the composition, gathering energy as it curves toward an illuminated horizon. The water suggests uncertainty and change- forces that cannot always be predicted or controlled- but within that movement there is also beauty, momentum, possibility, and most of all: hope.

Like the other works in the Everything Ripples collection, the piece begins with water as a metaphor for our interconnectedness. No current moves entirely on its own. Each is shaped by the movement surrounding it, just as our lives are continually influenced by the people who love, support, challenge, and accompany us.

This work was created from a place of hope as I considered what it means to move into a future I cannot yet imagine. The people I love cannot remove the uncertainty ahead, but their presence changes the way I enter it. Their encouragement and belief become part of the current carrying me forward.

Held in the Current is ultimately about surrendering to movement without surrendering hope—trusting that even when the destination remains unseen, we can be strengthened by the love that moves with us.
