In Those Ashes, A Garden Grows is an original painting from my On The Scenic Path Collection

Struggling during a particularly dark season, I was consumed by a total lack of confidence in myself and my perception of reality. I knew my self-esteem had been shattered, but I hoped that I would one day feel like myself (for the first time in my life). In a teary meditation on my studio floor, I wrote a poem that I hoped would one day ring true in my soul:  “In the ashes of my once obliterated self esteem, a garden grows.”  This poem was the seed of inspiration from which three paintings grew: My Once Obliterated Self-Esteem;  In Those Ashes, A Garden Grows;  and Soul Nourished, I Bloom Anew.

This piece, In Those Ashes, A Garden Grows, transforms grief into growth. Soft, unruly blooms emerge from a darker ground, honoring the beauty that can take root in the aftermath of devastation.
