Soul Nourished, I Bloom Anew is an original painting from my On The Scenic Path Collection

Struggling during a particularly dark season, I was consumed by a total lack of confidence in myself and my perception of reality. I knew my self-esteem had been shattered, but I hoped that I would one day feel like myself (for the first time in my life). In a teary meditation on my studio floor, I wrote a poem that I hoped would one day ring true in my soul:  “In the ashes of my once obliterated self esteem, a garden grows.”  This poem was the seed of inspiration from which three paintings grew: My Once Obliterated Self-Esteem;  In Those Ashes, A Garden Grows; and Soul Nourished, I Bloom Anew.

In this piece- Soul Nourished, I Bloom Anew- abstract forms gather, multiply, and press forward across the surface, suggesting growth at the most elemental level. This piece reflects the idea that what once felt like ruin can become fertile ground for a new, more authentic self.
